Dousing the fire : Renewal of Jones's show a mixed blessing

TVOntario has designated Thursday night sci-fi night when the network offers three back-to-back sci-fi series starting at 10 p.m. (Channel 28, Cable 2). First up at 10 is Prisoners of Gravity, TVO's home-grown comic book/sci-fi/fantasy hodgepodge of an arts series. It stars Rick Green (The Frantics) as Commander Rick who interviews top creators, illustrators and writers of the assorted genres. It's followed at 10:30 and 11:05 by repeats of the durable classics Doctor Who and Flash Gordon. The Flash Gordon series, by the way, was filmed in 1936 and stars Buster Crabbe.
