What's a fanlisting?
In it's most basic form, a fanlisting is a list of people who are fans of a particular subject. Anyone can join and the only requirement is your name and your country. There's no cost at all and this offer will not expire! Ever! Hopefully!
This fan listing is for Muttley, a Hanna-Barbera character that first appeared in Wacky Races.
Who's Muttley?
Muttley is the floppy eared and shaggy canine half of the Mean Machine (car double zero) team on Wacky Races. He's easily an “evil” character, but also a very lazy one; Muttley needs to be bribed into taking part in most schemes and often grumbles when a task is required of him. His competence level is roughly equal to that of his team mate Dick Dastardly, meaning that he usually fails spectacularly. Muttley seems to be aware of this fact and prefers watching the suffering of others rather than causing it. His trademark is his wheezing, snickering laugh.
In the world of Hanna-Barbera characters, Muttley is rather unusual. He's one of the a tiny number of recurring villains. Probably because of this, he's cast as a villain against ensemble groups of protagonist Hanna-Barbera characters. Later cartoons reveal that both Dastardly and Muttley exist in the same universe as Yogi Bear and many of the other anthropomorphic characters from H-B short cartoons.
So far, Muttley has appeared in the following cartoons: Wacky Races (1968), Dastardly & Muttley In Their Flying Machines (1969), Yogi's Treasure Hunt (1985), The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera (1989), Yo Yogi (1991) and Fender Bender 500 (1991), as well as various video games and comic books. Muttley should not be confused with Mumbly, a character that appeared during in the 1970s when the rights to Muttley were in limbo - Dick Dastardly was likewise replaced with the Dread Baron. Word is that in the comic universe, Mumbly and Muttley are cousins, but it's not solid canon.
The fan listing name, Snickering Hound, comes from the line in the Flying Machines theme where Dick describes Muttley: "Muttley you snickering, floppy-eared hound"
