What's a fanlisting?

In it's most basic form, a fanlisting is a list of people who are fans of a particular subject. Anyone can join and the only requirement is your name and your country. There's no cost at all and this offer will not expire! Ever! Hopefully!

This fanlisting is for Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle, the 1993 sequel to the computer game Maniac Mansion.

What's Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle?

MM: DotT is the follow up to the Maniac Mansion and takes place five years after the events in the first game. Like the first game, the player gets to switch between three characters to solve puzzles, but this time the game mechanics are slightly different. There's no opportunity to select characters from a larger group, as the player is stuck with only Bernard, Laverne and Hoagie. On the other hand, the gameplay in MM:DotT introduces the element of time. Events can be changed in the past, affecting what happens in the present and future.

The story opens with Green and Purple, the two tentacles who played a minor role in Maniac Mansion. Purple drinks toxic waste from Dr. Fred Edison's Sludge-o-Matic machine and mutates, growing stubby little arms and a desire to take over the world. Sensing that this is not a good situation and that his creations pose a massive risk to humanity, Dr. Fred captures the tentacles and intends to put them to sleep. Green manages to rally the help of Weird Ed Edison's hamster and sends a letter to his friend Bernard Bernoulli.

Bernard is your stereotypical geeky college student with one notable exception: he was one of the students that helped Dave Miller rescue Sandy and Fred from the purple meteor five years ago. Back then he was reluctant to help, but now he leads the charge to rescue Green and drags along his house mates, Laverne and Hoagie.

The rescue goes smoothly enough, except that Bernard releases both Green and Purple, allowing Purple to run off and start his plan for world domination. Dr Fred is furious at Bernard and decides to kill two birds with one stone; use Bernard, Laverne and Hoagie to test out his new time machine and send them back to yesterday to switch off the Sludge-o-Matic, preventing this whole mess from happening.

Unfortunately, the cheap fake diamond powering the time machine shatters, sending Hoagie 200 years in the past, Laverne 200 years in the future and Bernard back to the present. This is where the main gameplay starts.
